Heavy Maintenance

The aviation business demands excellence and innovation.

It demands a company like Empire Aerospace – a company that combines a passion for aviation, service, reliability, and safety with a commitment to do business with integrity and leadership.

As an offshoot of Empire Airlines, Empire Aerospace rightly claims Empire’s maintenance history as our history.

We’ve been maintaining planes since our inception as Clearwater Flying Service in 1977. Forest Service contracts led to heavy checks on Twin Otters and Beech 99s. Maintenance work expanded again in 1988 when Empire landed a FedEx contract to fly and maintain Caravan 208s.

Since 1990 Empire has been performing heavy checks on FAR 121 aircraft beginning with Fairchild F27s, then Fokker F27s, Shorts 360s and most recently (2003) ATRs giving Empire more than 15 years continuous experience maintaining large turboprop aircraft.

Empire Aerospace now operates under a Part 145 certificate designating us as a certified MRO facility. Housed in a modern 50,000 plus square foot facility we provide state of the art maintenance for your aircraft.

We provide skilled dedicated personnel with the right tools, technology, and parts to service aircraft. We’ve been doing that for years as Empire Airlines.

With our We Can Do That® attitude Empire has developed numerous STCs to improve functionality and solve problems. We thrive on meeting challenges for our customers.

We know what your needs are as an operator and we deliver!

Avionics

We at Empire Aerospace recognize the role of quality avionics technicians in the overall scheme of heavy maintenance.

Operating under our Part 145 CRS# COER135A we are able to inspect and ceritify transponders, altimeters (on the aircraft or the bench), pitot/static systems, and ULBs.

As a Rockwell Collins Dealer, we can sell, install, service, and upgrade your Rockwell Collins avionics. We are also qualified to perform warranty work and modifications.

Our employees are here to insure delivery of quality, reliability and timeliness at a fair price.

Composites

Empire Aerospace Composite Shop personnel are ready to serve you with years of training and hands-on experience in advanced aerospace composites. Training

Training is essential for staying current, safe and knowledgeable about different aircaft types. Empire’s experienced Maintenance Training personnel manage and provide training for Empire Airlines and Empire Aerospace maintenance and quality assurance personnel

Qualified through a combination of OEM and factory-authorized training courses, the instructional staff develops in-house curriculum including training manuals, multimedia presentations, videos, additional study aids and tests.

At present Empire provides technical training for the F27, ATR42 and ATR72 aircraft. Specific in-house courses offered include General Familiarization (Ramp and Transit), Engine Run/Taxi and Avionics.

Non-technical classroom training is provided for subjects such as Receiving Inspection, FARs, Hazardous Materials handling and shipping, aircraft deicing and runway incursion avoidance. An on-staff OSHA-authorized trainer provides general industry safety training. Maintenance personnel also provide training, medical screening and fit testing for respirator use.
